Our community

Cafesmo's motto is 'diversity and quality,' and that applies to our people as well. We're a diverse team, where everyone contributes their unique talents and knowledge, and where everyone is respected for who they are. However, together, we are more than the sum of our parts. Oh, and while we work with dedication and seriousness, we're also a fun-loving team and we laugh every day!

Through the ETEA Foundation, we work on transferring coffee farming knowledge and practices to the next generation and empowering women. Together, we have created a women's group and a youth group.

These two groups of producers are even more frequently found in positions of economic vulnerability. We have established relationships with buyers who specifically seek out women's coffee or who wish to work with young producers.

We also maintain strong ties with our own community. In fact, most of our employees were born and still live in the neighborhood, and obviously our member producers also live in the area. If our community thrives, we as an organization also do our best; we also become actively involved in its well-being, so we participate in supporting schools, community organizations, and a rehabilitation center in our area.

Beyond our immediate community, we establish mutually beneficial and respectful relationships with our partners and buyers. In these relationships, we provide high-quality coffee, delivering on our promises, and are recognized as a reliable and knowledgeable partner.

Through our way of working, we try to fulfill our social and environmental responsibility in the value chain, and we encourage our suppliers and buyers to contribute as well, by doing their part.
